I suggest you the Bed and Breakfast Al Giardino in Venice: http://www.algiardinovenezia.it/index_eng.htm
Offer double rooms at the price of Euro 70,00 room night: http://www.algiardinovenezia.it/venice_bed_and_breakfast/prices.html
    Offer self catering apartments too.
    Ciao!

What do you consider to be affordable and exactly when do you plan to be here. Venice is one of the more expensive places here in Italy and prices can vary a lot at a given hotel depending on exactly what’s going on. During Il Redentore in July, Venice is packed for the festival and prices are high compared to the usual rates for example.

I use the Venere.com site to find hotels here in Italy. http://www.venere.com/italy/venice/ I usually stay in the Selvadego or the All’Angelo, but those may be above what you consider affordable. My daughter and a friend stayed at the Hotel Fontana when they visited in early September and like it a lot. It’s only about a 5 min walk from Piazza San Marco – ask for a view of the San Zacharia church.

Generally, places near the train station or on the outer islands are cheaper. Venice is compact and easily walkable and the vaporetto is convenient for getting around so you can pretty much stay anywhere.

Venice is so beautiful. Byzantine palaces, ornate arched bridges, elegant piazzas. You can’t miss Piazza San Marco, the Rialto Bridge and the Bridge of Sighs, but there’s much more. Visit the old Jewish Ghetto and alk from one end of Venice to the other. It will be a dream come true. To book a good and cheap hotel in Venice you can go to http://www.scoobit.com/venice-hotel.php I stayed in the third hotel on the right: nice and clean place, incredibly located. But feel free to choose the hotel that best fits your needs. Scoobit.com is to me the best website for hotels in Italy. You can book on line and there are no booking fees. All the best.
