I’ll be going to Thailand this coming September and was wondering whether those 2 hotels would be worth staying in. I just searched the net for reasonable hotels and i decided on those 2 based on their websites. I just wanted to know if anyone has had any first hand experience with those hotels and if they would recommend them. If not, any suggestions for hotels in Ao Nang and Bangkok? ![]()
thanks soldierofglory and geraldj! any suggstions on which hotels would be ok to stay in that are not smack in the middle of the redlight district?
which streets would you suggest i search to look for hotels in? i appreciate all the help. my trip date is fast approaching and i am yet to book my hotels online. it’s really difficult to base it on just what i see on the hotels websites.

woraburi is great.theygot some cheap hotels on khaosan road too, pattya n phuket.stayed once on khaosan road.
I hear the Woraburi is a good hotel for the money, but unless you want to stay at a hotel that has a large sex tourist clientle and is on the same street of one of the larger red light districts in Bangkok, then you might want to look elsewhere. In general, the area around Soi 3, 4, 5, and 7 may not be suitable for some people.
I like this hotel Fortune Grand Mercure its $54 per night and near the Subway and it has a mall attached

How about Narai hotel? It is centrally located, near the BTS sky train station (Sala Daeng) and offers fabulous breakfast. A internet shop is right opposite the hotel, supermarket 7-Eleven close by, taxi available any time, and all taxi drivers know the hotel. Three blocks down to the river (in front the colorful religious place) is a small street with an interesting food market and is an excellent place for street food and a haricut.

For Krabi accommodation, I’d recommend Vogue Resort and Spa (Ao Nang). This place is a real find. Before booking, we scoured every review we could find and were so pleased with this resort. From the air conditioned airport pickup we couldn’t have been better looked after. The room was clean and had great views (we asked for a third floor, good idea). The pool is like a quiet oasis, and the staff very friendly. Breakfast was OK. The only improevment wold be some better coffee. The internet room was efficiently run, very cool, and a fast link. Having the supermarket next door was handy, and the location was perfect for the beach, the restaurants, travel agents. I would recommend this resort to people wanting a quiet, clean and comfortable place.
only 63USD/night for deluxe room (early Sep) http://www.discovery-thailand.com/Hotels%20Map%20Pages/Krabi%20Map/Ao%20Nang%20Hotel%20Location%20Map.html
Have a nice trip!
Sukhumvit is a good area for Bangkok. For tourism you maybe want to be near Siam Square or more towards the river. Anyway, you can read reviews about those hotels or search for better ones here:
