There are places on KoSahn thta are guest friendly ,not all though.
No go-go`s along ko Sahn ,you`re better off going to Patpong, silom or Nana ,Soi Cowboy around Sukhumvit.
Lots of freelance girls looking for your $$ along Ko Sahn though,so you can get laid easily.
Well, Bangkok is a big city and like other big cities you should be careful on choosing a hotel there if you want it to be guest friendly and safe. If that is what you are looking for than i would recommend staying in one of the larger brand name hotels like the hilton or best western, but i really don’t see a problem with staying in a little bit of a crappier place (i have and it was fine) it is way less expensive and you probably wont be in there for to long other than to sleep and stuff. I think that if you are going to go to Thailand, it is important to also visit Chiang Mai and Koh Samui and i would also recommend going to some of the more secluded beaches. It is beautiful.
Short time hotels are everywhere in Bangkok, even around Khaosan Rd.They are frequented mainly by men with prostitutes. Elsewhere, they are often frequented by Thais who live with their parents and wish to have some privacy, as well as married men with their “mia noi” lesser wives. Cost is typically 200-300 baht for 2 hours. The Thai word for this kind of hotel is “rongraem monroot” (= hotel draw-curtain).
There are Hotels in Khaosan Road, Bangkok. Cheap Room Rates from $15-$17,

Rambuttri Village Inn Bangkok

Khaosan Road is only for backpackers and there are no go go bars around 10 kms of it.. It is meant for Americans who use drugs. Main go go barsare in the Nana Enter tainment Plaza and Soi Cowboy.
There are a number of hotels here with reviews:

You aren’t going to find go-go bars in the Khao San Road area, really. Your best bet is on Sukhumvit (Soi Nana, Soi Cowboy) or by going to Patpong.
