One of my friends is asking me to recommend him a mid-priced hotel in Hong Kong. The only requirement they have is that it should have a swimming pool.
I have travelled quite a number of times to Hong Kong for both travel and business, and usually for travel I stay in a simple but clean budget place in Mongkok, and for business I stayed in Holiday Inn in Tsim Sha Tsui. Definitely Holiday Inn is a good place to stay with swimming pool, but this is at the higher price range. Any suggestions for a cheaper hotel with pool?
Appreciate if answerers could give a price indication for room rate and short description of the hotel as well and what’s your experience with this hotel… if possible a URL so I can have a look without googling.

I’m already searching tripadvisor and such, but posting this question to see if anyone has a good recommendation for hotel with swimpool. For reference, Holiday Inn charge is around 1,400 HKD, so looking below that range.

Newton Hotel on Hong Kong island. Good location, within easy access of Fortress Hill MTR.
It depends on what you consider mid-range.
If you want to see travelers reviews of their stays in Hong Kong hotels, go to www.bestchoicetravels.com and click on ‘Hotels Only’ and enter the dates and city.
From there you will get a list of the hotels in Hong Kong and virtual tours, reviews, availability, etc.

There are a lot of great deals HK hotels that have a pool facility, visit www.tripadvisor.com they give the price, and facilities available.
Well, for the last 3 years, I’ve stayed in the Miramar Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui. It’s really nice and it costed like $120 a night in the summer. It has a swimming pool, a bar, and their own mall!! The rooms are really nice, like luxury nice but not VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY fancy.

I used these 2 site when I was travelling to HK and China last Thanksgiving. They have a pretty good rate. I remember 1 of the site tells if the hotel has a swimming pool or not.

Metropark Hotel Kowloon:

This is in a quiet street near Kowloon MTR station. The location looks alright, it’s a 10 min walk to Kowloon MTR and near ladies’ market etc. The swimming pool looks good and the hotel gets rave reviews.
Price below USD 100 per night. If you click on the “check rates” button on the tripadvisor website, it gives you several online booking options and you can compare prices of each.
Bishop Lei International House:

This one is half way up the escalators, in Hong Kong Island.
Also gets good reviews and price around USD 70.
The swimming pool looks good too.
Newton Hotel in Hong Kong Island is mainly used for mainland China tour groups, and though they have a swimming pool it is sometimes closed for unknown reasons.
Miramar is also a great hotel as suggested by another answerer, but their swimming pool is indoors and the price range about the same as Holiday Inn. Both good hotels I reckon.
