Tour operator in Cairo say around 7 days! too long! I heard about tightening regulations in UAE and I’m afraid getting visa rejected because of cheap hotel I booked.
I got Abu Dhabi tourist visa before in 2008 through Etihad Airlines (It takes 15 days although they said not more than 10 days) but I think Dubai visas would be faster… Is there an average for tourist visa processing?

You need a 5 star hotel and you will get your visa in about 3 days.
Please go by the information giving by the tour operator where you applied for the tourist visa. Yes, changes regarding visa rules took place and to apply for an urgent visa isn’t possible no more. On the other hand, if a sponsor in the UAE applies for a visit visa for a close relative, it may take only 10 minutes.
Please be aware, that the fees have to be paid to DNDR first before the visa process will start.
Booking a cheap hotel is no reason for rejecting a visa application.
the time depends on the sponsor .
if he has any default with the dept then th delays will be untill the default is cleared.
other wise 7 days should be sufficient
